Capitals Sign Alex Bunton for 2012/13 WNBL Season

Canberra TransACT Capitals Coach Carrie Graf today announced the key signing of local junior player Alex Bunton with the seven time WNBL Champions for the 2012/13 WNBL Season.

Alex played her junior basketball with the Western Creek/ Woden Dodgers and Brindabella Basketball Clubs. She was also Basketball ACT Representative player with the Under 14’s, 16’s, 18’s and 20’s teams the Australian Junior National Championships and member of ACT Academy of Sport basketball program prior to going to the Australian Institute of Sport for two and half years .  At 6’ 6” Alex is an imposing player who will add depth to the Centre position for the Capitals.

Alex has also represented Australia at the 2011 FIBA U19 World Championship for Women in Chile placing 4th. She also represented Australia at the 2010 FIBA U17 World Championship for Women in France were they placed 7th.

The signing of Alex for the upcoming season is considered to be an important key for the team as they look to improve upon their seven WNBL Championships.
